The Sultan was an avid fan and promoter of classical songs. His a hundred and twenty-member orchestra is composed solely of young Omanis who, due to the fact 1986, audition as small children and grow up as members on the symphonic ensemble. They play domestically and traveled abroad with the Sultan.
